Empresa Nacional de Energía Enex S.A. (Enex) participates in the Chilean oil industry through the sale of fuels, lubricants, asphalts and chemical products. Enex has a nationwide network of 447 service stations operating under the Shell license and 171 convenience stores. Enex also serves industrial clients, mainly of the transport, mining and power generation sectors.

Enex is the second largest fuel distributor in Chile, with a market share of 21.1% of total volumes, and a 24.5% share in the service station segment, as of December 2019. Enex also is the Macro Distributor of Shell Lubricants in Chile, commercializing products such as Shell Helix, Shell Tellus, Shell Rimula, Shell Spirax and Pennzoil®.

In 2018, Enex started its international expansion with the acquisition of Road Ranger, the fourth largest travel center network in the USA, with 39 locations on the main interstate highways between Texas and the Midwest, with presence in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri and Wisconsin. In 2019, it continued to move in this direction, completing the purchase of 50% and a capital increase in Gasur SRL, a company that has a network of 51 service stations and convenience stores in Paraguay, which was renamed Enex Paraguay SRL.

To facilitate Enex's global expansion, on March 23, 2020, the merger of Inversiones Río Argenta, a fully-owned subsidiary of Quiñenco that is the parent company of Enex, and Invexans, where Quiñenco owns 99.4%, was approved. The merger was materialized during April 2020.

In addition, Enex holds a 50% share in Asfaltos Conosur, 14.9% in Sociedad Nacional de Oleoductos (Sonacol), 33.3% in Sociedad de Inversiones de Aviación (SIAV) and 20% of DASA.

Quiñenco controls 100% of Enex since 2011, when it acquired Shell’s assets in Chile.
